This is an original hand-drawn sketch signed by acclaimed mecha and concept designer Makoto Kobayashi, created during production of Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection (2009), directed by Yoshinobu Nishizaki.

What makes this piece especially rare is that it was personally selected by Director Nishizaki as part of the project’s visual development. This is not a reproduction or copy—it is a one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn original.
The sketch bears Makoto Kobayashi’s authentic signature, clearly visible and consistent with known examples.
While the paper has some edge tears and signs of aging, the illustration itself is intact and undamaged.
